Oral Pathology

Oral pathology is concerned with the assessment, diagnosis and management of diseases occurring in the mouth, face or jaws.

Assessment involves your surgeon completing a thorough medical history and clinical examination. Medical imagery may be required and this can include plain X-rays or CT scans. In addition, a biopsy is often required to obtain a piece of tissue that can be sent for histological diagnosis.

Once this has occurred, your surgeon will recommend the most appropriate treatment.
